Our thanks to everyone who took time to nominate one of our outstanding teachers for Wicomico Teacher of the Year. When nominations closed last Tuesday Wicomico County Public Schools had received 803 submissions, so we know our community appreciates its teachers.
We look forward to the recognition of nominees by our schools in December, and then in January the quarterfinalists and semifinalists will be announced. One of the semifinalist teachers will be named the next Wicomico Teacher of the Year on April 9. Excited to find out which of our outstanding teachers that will be!

The county culminating event for middle school cross country runners is Tuesday, Nov. 18 starting at 9:30 a.m. in Salisbury City Park. We thank the Wicomico County Education Foundation for its generous support of the in Wicomico Public Schools’ middle school intramural program, including cross country.
Parents, come cheer on your middle school athletes as they challenge themselves on the cross-country course along with other runners from all the middle schools: Bennett Middle, Mardela Middle, Pittsville Middle, Salisbury Middle and Wicomico Middle. The top school takes home the county trophy, and the top 6 individual runners at each grade level (girls and boys) receive awards: medals for 1st through 3rd, ribbons for 4th through 6th. See you out there along the course to support these student-athletes!

Pittsville did an awesome job representing at the Intramural Play Day! Our girls’ team placed second out of 4 teams, and both Boys A and Boys B teams finished with a strong 3-1 record. Our athletes made us proud for their skill and their sportsmanship.
The highlight of the day - our flag football teams brought home a trophy for having the highest GPA average of all the teams there.
Let’s keep it going! We’re so proud of what our athletes do on and off the field.
