During Guidance lessons all grade levels discussed strategies for dealing with problems and how to have more constructive solutions without putting people down or bullying. They also discussed what to do if they are being bullied or see others being victims. Here are just a few highlights!

PEMS wants to honor Veterans and their service to our country. Students received a flyer yesterday inviting Veterans in their families to visit and/or send in photos or names of Veterans living in our community, to be used in a school display. All information should be turned in or emailed by Nov. 4th. Please see the flyer for details.

Our school was identified for Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) status based on the performance of our Special Education group. This group did not meet the state's performance targets, necessitating additional, targeted support to address their specific learning needs and promote equitable academic outcomes for all students.
We remain fully committed to meeting the needs of each and every student here at Pittsville Elementary and Middle School. Through intentional collaboration, data-driven instruction, and ongoing professional development, we will continue to work towards closing achievement gaps, strengthening supports, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Additional information can be found by clicking this link.

Putting bullying to rest with Pajama Day!

More pajama day excitement!

Putting bullying to rest was easy with Pajama Day!

Elementary orchestra traveled to Parkside High School for their orchestra's Children's Concert, entitled Once Upon a Symphony. They got to watch someone who played the instrument they are learning, learn about how it is to play in an orchestra, hear from soloist and graduate of WCPS, Chris Sajadi, and even meet some Disney princesses along the way. It was also a special treat to take a picture with 4 members of the PHS orchestra who started their orchestra journey at Pittsville themselves!

Letter days for elementary students (including those at Pittsville Elementary & Middle) are posted each week during the school year. The schedule of letter days is on school web pages in Live Feed, and on the school system's website, in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
