Wicomico County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, July 3, as part of the Independence Day holiday. On Saturday, July 4 our nation celebrates 250 years since the day that the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence Day. Happy 250th America!

Yates began serving his term on July 1 and will represent all students of Wicomico County Public Schools throughout the year ahead. The Wicomico County Board of Education will hold a special meeting and work session on Tuesday, June 30. Following the call to order at 8:30 a.m. and a closed session, the Board will meet in open session starting at approximately 9:15 a.m. On the agenda for the open session of this special meeting:

• Adoption of the amended current expense budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027
• Approval of Pre-Qualified Real Estate Brokers

Wicomico Public Schools SUN Meals To-Go program offers easy pick-up and delivery options for kids 18 and under, so more children in rural areas can receive the nutrition they need when school is out for the summer. Summer meals will be distributed on Wednesday afternoons, beginning June 24 through Aug. 19th at the Pittsville Elementary and Middle School Bus Ramp.

Wicomico County Public Schools will be closed Friday, June 19 to observe the Juneteenth holiday. The school system will reopen on Monday, June 22.
Report cards for the final marking term are available as of today (Tuesday, June 16). They are available through the Family Portal, and will also be mailed.

-Visit the Pridelands with the cast and crew of the Prince Street Elementary Drama Club's "The Lion King Kids," shows at the school at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
-Browse through hundreds and hundreds of excellent pieces of artwork in the annual Wicomico County Student Art Show, in the Paul Sarbanes Branch of the Wicomico Public Library in Downtown Salisbury. Open library hours Saturday and Sunday, and then it closes.
-Take a seat in the Wicomico High School Auditorium for the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre's "The Little Mermaid," whose cast includes some of our talented students. Shows at 11 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
