Congratulations to these students who had their original poem published in the 2025 Pine Tree Poetry Collection!
This book is an anthology of poems written by students all over the United States during the 2024-2025 school year.
There is a copy of this anthology in the school media center to be checked out by students if they are interested in reading the poems. (We had a little fun with the picture of several of the poets. The other writers were absent or declined the picture.)
Congratulations to all of them for this accomplishment!

Dr. Matt Edelstein, Director of the Brief Treatment Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, will present to parents, caregivers, childcare providers, and private/parochial school partners during a morning and early evening session.
This is a free training for our community and is paid for using IDEA Part C and Judy Center grant funds. Dr. Edelstein’s presentation will provide attendees with greater knowledge and awareness of the impact of screen time on behavior and development. Additionally, attendees will learn more about how to set limits on devices and other media applications.

Due to inclement weather, Wicomico County Public Schools will have a 90-minute delay today (Dec. 5). Breakfast will not be served in school. Students should follow their school’s instructions regarding the day’s schedule. Please be safe. Thank you.

Our thanks to everyone who took time to nominate one of our outstanding teachers for Wicomico Teacher of the Year. When nominations closed last Tuesday Wicomico County Public Schools had received 803 submissions, so we know our community appreciates its teachers.
We look forward to the recognition of nominees by our schools in December, and then in January the quarterfinalists and semifinalists will be announced. One of the semifinalist teachers will be named the next Wicomico Teacher of the Year on April 9. Excited to find out which of our outstanding teachers that will be!

Individuals wishing to provide comments on any of the policies before the Board meeting may send their thoughts to comments@mywcps.org or mail them to Dr. Brian Raygor, Wicomico County Public Schools, 2424 Northgate Drive, Salisbury, MD 21802

The county culminating event for middle school cross country runners is Tuesday, Nov. 18 starting at 9:30 a.m. in Salisbury City Park. We thank the Wicomico County Education Foundation for its generous support of the in Wicomico Public Schools’ middle school intramural program, including cross country.
Parents, come cheer on your middle school athletes as they challenge themselves on the cross-country course along with other runners from all the middle schools: Bennett Middle, Mardela Middle, Pittsville Middle, Salisbury Middle and Wicomico Middle. The top school takes home the county trophy, and the top 6 individual runners at each grade level (girls and boys) receive awards: medals for 1st through 3rd, ribbons for 4th through 6th. See you out there along the course to support these student-athletes!

Pittsville did an awesome job representing at the Intramural Play Day! Our girls’ team placed second out of 4 teams, and both Boys A and Boys B teams finished with a strong 3-1 record. Our athletes made us proud for their skill and their sportsmanship.
The highlight of the day - our flag football teams brought home a trophy for having the highest GPA average of all the teams there.
Let’s keep it going! We’re so proud of what our athletes do on and off the field.
